Privacy policy
Effective May 2026. This is a plain-English version. We make no commitment to be exhaustively legalistic about it. If you have a question this page doesn't answer, ask us.
What we collect
- Email address, if you sign up for our newsletter (handled by Kit / ConvertKit).
- Message contents, if you contact us via the contact form.
- Anonymized analytics — pages visited, referrer, country, broad device type. We use a privacy-focused analytics service (Plausible / Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not set cookies or build profiles of individual visitors.
What we don't collect
- We do not require accounts to use the site.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.).
- We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't use the contents of your contact-form message for marketing.
What we do with what we collect
- Email: send you the monthly update you signed up for. Nothing else.
- Contact-form messages: reply to you. Then we keep the message for our records.
- Analytics: see which pages are useful and which aren't, so we can improve the site.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
When you click an affiliate link on this site, you leave us. The destination site has its own privacy policy. We do not share any personal data with our affiliate partners; the affiliate tracking happens through an anonymous referral parameter on the link itself.
Cookies
We do not set tracking cookies. Our analytics provider does not use cookies. The only cookies you may encounter on this site are ones set by embedded third-party tools (e.g., Kit's signup form) if and when you interact with them.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Unsubscribe from our email list at any time (link is in every email).
- Request deletion of any personal data we have about you. Email us via the contact page.
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you. Same channel.
We honor GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA (California) rights for all visitors regardless of jurisdiction.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material about our data practices, we'll update this page and put a notice at the top. The "last updated" date below always reflects the current version.
